Then why is it I try so hard? Why do people try so hard? It's immediately apparent when we're doing it, but we don't know how to stop it. Trying too hard is the easiest way to come off as insincere or unappealing, especially in the art world where your creative message matters most.
You want people to like your work. But you don't want to pander to them. You want your art to look perfect. But then you try so hard your poses all look stiff and unimaginative.
I hae been drawing. Lots. It feels like my regular drawings are more fun and free. But as soon as I get to comics my brain goes into overdrive and it usually ends in my quitting completely. Ah well...
Anyway, I do owe people some art. So I'm going to remind myself with a checklist.
Random friend offline: I owe sexy puppy girls.
Come to think of it, I probably owe someone else a picture too, but I can't remember really.
P.S. What do you guys do when you're stuck? Any tips that might get my creative juices flowing again would be really appreciated. Thank you.
